Polyurock Model Material
Polyurock is a dual component model resin from Metalor. It offers excellent mechanical properties for full or partial models. When the base and catalyst are mixed, Polyurock fills even the smallest interstices of impressions, including sharp edges. After 24 hours of curing, the model is smooth, shiny and stable with negligible shrinkage or expansion. High hardness value (80-83 Shore D) and strong intermolecular cohesion bonds produce models that are less affected by shock impact from bench work and during transportation. It’s perfect for implant work because of the accuracy and toughness of the material. It mixes, cuts and grinds without the odour of epoxy. Polyurock is compatible with alginates, hydrocolloids, various types of silicones, and many other impression materials. Polyurock release spray is also available and should be used with polyethers (Impregum), vinyl polysiloxanes, thioelastomers, metals (posts, implants, attachments), and plastics (burn-out posts, Zeiser plates, Model Trays, etc.). Polyurock is supplied in a ready-to-use compact kit. In addition to stark white, Polyurock can be coloured as the technician wishes. The four basic colours (black, yellow, red and blue) can be combined to achieve an infinite colour range from ivory to dark grey. Due to its hardness and shiny appearance, Polyurock is also an ideal material for making demonstration models.

Alloy Casting Flux
By applying Metalor’s casting fluxes, oxidization of an alloy during melting is avoided. You just glaze the crucible with the flux and it yields excellent, clean results. There are two types of casting fluxes that are available, depending on the type of alloy you are casting: Boric Acid is a high fusing flux for all casting alloys with a solidus temperature greater than 1000°C / 1832°F. As a general rule, Boric Acid is recommended for use with bonding alloys. Borax is a melting flux for all casting alloys with a solidus temperature less than 1000°C / 1832°F. Borax is typically recommended for use with ‘crown & bridge’ alloys.

Soldering Flux
V-Flux is a liquid soldering flux for furnace soldering of casting or bonding alloys post-ceramic. V-Flux is easy to apply to the soldering joint. Its high viscosity helps keep the soldering rods in position. V-Flux will not spread over adjacent porcelain surfaces during heating. Fluxor is a paste flux for the open flame soldering of all precious dental alloys. During heating, Fluxor solidifies at a comparatively low temperature. With increasing temperatures the crystals transform into a viscous cover, providing complete protection from oxidization. In addition, Fluxor will aid in the disoxidation of casting alloys. Solflux is flux for soldering of non-precious to precious elements such as an extension to a framework or the addition of retention. Soflux is excellent for soldering precious metals to attachments, milled secondary parts on a framework base or orthodontic work. Stopor is a Zirconia based anti-flux paste. Stopor limits the spread of liquid solder to the immediate vicinity of the joint, thus contamination of attachment and occlusal surfaces is prevented. By applying Stopor to soldering joints in the vicinity of the porcelain, discolouration is avoided. Stopor is excellent in covering oxidation-sensitive medium and low-precious metal alloys. Grinding and polishing time of the surfaces is thus greatly reduced.

ERA® PickUp Material
ERA® PickUp is a tissue coloured, pink bis-acryl composite used to process attachments into dentures in a chairside or laboratory procedure. It is an auto-mixing, self-curing material delivered in a double-barreled syringe. The extremely low polymerization shrinkage (less than 1%) means that it will not pull away from attachments like acrylics. The fact that it is odourless, tasteless, causes no allergic reactions, and has a low curing temperature means greater comfort for the patient than with acrylics. The material can be used to pick up any attachment!

The application process is easy and efficient. Prepare a recess in the denture large enough for the attachment. We recommend applying the Stern Vantage Varnish LC as a primer in the denture recess. This light cured resin will ensure strong chemical bonding of the PickUp material to the denture acrylic. Light cure the Varnish with a common handheld light-curing unit for 40-90 seconds. Attach an auto-mixing tip to the double-barreled syringe and dispense the material around the attachment in the mouth or on the model. Dispense additional material in the recess of the denture. With 45 seconds working time, be sure to seat the denture passively to ensure an accurate fit. The material will enter a rubbery phase at approximately 3 minutes, at which point the material has set. However, complete setting of the material is 7 minutes from time of mixing. Note that setting times will vary depending on the temperature of the working environment.
